The Duke of Sussex is one of four Counsellors of State, who are authorised to carry out most of the Queen’s official duties if she is unable to on a temporary basis.
Harry, who lives in California with Meghan Markle after quitting royal duties but is still a UK citizen, is eligible to continue in the role as he qualifies as being domiciled in Britain due to his former Windsor home.
The Telegraph reports that Harry and Meghan have decided to renew the lease on Frogmore Cottage which runs out on March 31.A spokesman for the Duke told the newspaper: “There are no planned changes to the current arrangement.”
It comes as Harry is embroiled in a legal battle with the Home Office over police protection for the Sussexes when they are in the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reported to have renewed their lease on Frogmore Cottage.
They have not lived in the property, half a mile south of Windsor Castle, since moving to the US two years ago.
It is now being used by Harry’s cousin and close friend Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their baby August.
Renewing the lease means Harry can continue to deputise for the Queendespite living in California.
