Halle Berry had many big moments at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards. For starters, she brought back her iconic X-Men pixie cut by adding grey and blonde streaks to her hair. She also wore a stunning black velvet Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit paired with a sheer white corset that showed off her ultra sculpted abs.

During the event, Halle received the SeeHer award, which is meant to recognize those advocating for portrayals of women in media. She delivered an empowering speech stating, “…we will tell stories that see us fully in all our multitudes and contradictions. Because we are confident and we are scared. We are vulnerable, and we are strong. We are everything and all of that and all at the same time!”

She then went on to speak directly to the young women watching the show adding, “We won’t always be pretty, and we will never be perfect, but what we will be is always honest and true—no matter how uncomfortable that makes you…So to every little girl who feels unseen and unheard, this is our way of saying to you: We love you, and we see you, and you deserve every good thing in this world.”

Wondering what Halle does to get her abs red carpet ready? Well, you’re in luck.If you’re not into crazy long workouts at the gym, you’re not alone. As it turns out, Halle’s a fan of 20-minute workouts. “…[it] can totally knock you on your butt,” she wrote in an essay for Women’s Health. “In fact, they’re often even harder than longer ones.”

She also likes to push herself with high-intensity circuit training. “Usually, I’ll do circuits of five or six exercises and churn through one after another, going as hard as I can for a set amount of time so I don’t have to count reps,” she says. “Sometimes we use all bodyweight moves; other times I’m upping the intensity with equipment like my ankle weights.”To keep her routine fresh, Halle relies on other forms of cardio to stay active such as jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and capoeira.

“…one of the biggest game-changers for my abs over the years has been martial arts…When you’re practicing MMA, you’re using your core the whole damn time. You’re constantly bracing, twisting, and ducking. It’s a recipe for really strong abs,” she told WH. Now that sounds like a truly killer workout.

As for her diet, Halle has always been mindful about what she eats. Since she was diagnosed with diabetes at age 19, she sticks to low-carb and meat-based meals. Her go-to lunch is lamb chops with a bed of cauliflower rice, Brussels sprouts, green beans, spinach, or beets.

And for an extra boost of energy, Halle drinks coffee with almond milk ghee, protein powder, and collagen. She also does intermittent fasting, so she likes to end her day early with a quick salad around 6 p.m.
