The Simpson sisters brought a little sparkle to their friend’s big day. Jessica Simpson, 41, and Ashlee Simpson Ross, 37, dazzled in glam gowns at their childhood friend Stephanie Pearson’s wedding, where they appeared to be bridesmaids.
For the elegant outdoor nuptials, Jessica opted for a gold gown covered in elaborate sequins. She teamed the plunging, curve-hugging style with an equally sparkly necklace and earrings. Ashlee, on the other hand, was dripping in feathers for the fashion-forward affair, sporting a lavender Marchesa gown with subtle shine.
“My best friend’s wedding!” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday, while sharing a photo from the big day. “Such a beautiful bride, and a wedding full of fancy gowns and so much love.” The bride opted for a slightly less sparkly look than her guests, walking down the aisle in a dress featuring gold buttons and large tulle sleeves.
The Simpsons’ mom, Tina Simpson, 61, was also there for the festivities, wearing a leopard print jacket and a plunging green fringed gown. It’s not the first time the family has gotten glammed up for a wedding recently, as Ashlee shared photos of daughter Jagger, 6, and Jessica’s daughter Maxwell, 9 — whom she shares with husband Eric Johnson — having their own matching moment at a different friend’s wedding in August.
“Gorgeous flower girls,” she wrote alongside shots of the two kids twinning in braid crowns and charcoal gray flower girl dresses from Joyfolie. Simpson’s husband, Evan Ross, with whom she shares two kids, told Page Six in 2019 that the cousins are “best friends.”
Jessica Simpson recalls being on hospital breathing machine while pregnant
Jessica Simpson suffered a serious health scare when pregnant with her youngest child Birdie. “Her oxygen levels were dropping,” the singer, 41, told Bloomberg this week. “I couldn’t breathe.” Simpson said she had been diagnosed with severe bronchitis when she was 34 weeks pregnant with her third child, and was even on a breathing machine at the hospital.
“I was 260 pounds,” she explained. “She was a very big baby. We were like, ‘Just take her out.’” However, Birdie was not delivered that day and Simpson told her followers about the scary ordeal once she was back home.
“After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in 2 months), I’m finally home!,” the “Take My Breath Away” singer shared on Instagram in March 2019. “Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey. I am slowly getting healthier every day.”
“Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! 🙏🏼” she continued. “I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH.”
Simpson had a separate health issue two months prior to that hospitalization. The Jessica Simpson Collection CEO had severely swollen feet and pleaded online for help. “Any remedies?!” the “Dukes of Hazards” actress asked at the time. “Help!!!!”
Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, finally welcomed Birdie Mae in late March 2019. The couple, who wed in 2014, are also parents to daughter Maxwell, 9, and son Ace, 8. Just six months after having their youngest, Simpson revealed she had gotten back in shape and lost 100 pounds.
