They have been at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands without their children Archie and Lilibet. But for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, their two children were seemingly never far from their minds.
The pair let slip several snippets about their pair, including Archie’s hopes for the future and even how they struggled to pick a name for him when he was born. Meghan has now more than likely been reunited with the tots after travelling back to California – but as Harry is staying for the duration of the Games, his return will be at the weekend.
However, rather than shouting for their daddy – it seems Archie and Lilibet use a different adorable name for their father, which was revealed on their 2021 Christmas card. The card featured a stunning image of the family as well as a message from Harry and Meghan that wished people a ‘Happy Holidays’.
And it also let slip that rather than using the usual name of dad or daddy – Harry’s children actually call him Papa. In the card, the couple wrote: “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.” And while using the name Papa rather than dad might be unusual to some, it is common in the royal family.
Last year when paying tribute to his father Prince Philip, Prince Charles referred to him as his “dear papa”. While Harry himself has been seen calling Charles ‘Pa’ – the shortened version of Papa. Meanwhile, Harry has also been looking to the future and says he ‘won’t rest’ until he’s made the world a better place for his children.
