To 9-1-1 fans, Jennifer Love Hewitt is their sweet yet fierce Maddie Buckley. But to others who’ve followed the actress throughout her incredible three decade-long career, she’s many different characters .
As the return of 9-1-1 season 5 quickly approaches on March 21, Jennifer got a blast from the past when she came across a TikTok featuring a compilation of clips from a dozen roles she has had since 1989. Set to The Tings Tings’ 2007 hit song “That’s Not My Name,” the Texas native was reminded of the time she played Robin in Kids Incorporated, Julie James in I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sarah Reeves in Party of Five, Page Connors in Heartbreakers, Melinda Gordon in Ghost Whisperer, Riley Parks in The Client List and Kate Callahan in Criminal Minds, among lots of other parts.
After watching the throwback snippets from various eras of her acting career, Jennifer shared the post on her Instagram Stories and later posted it as an Instagram Reel so it could live on her feed forever. “❤️,” she captioned it on January 27.
Upon reading the message in the TikTok — which said “My name is Jennifer Love Hewitt but they call me …” — and watching the compilation for themselves, a debate ensued in the comments section about the best character she has portrayed. “MELINDA GORDON ❣️❣️ FOREVER,” one person wrote. “Amanda Beckett!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” another added. “Riley Parks omgggg ❤️❤️❤️ yassss 🔥❤️,” a different fan said. “KATE AND MADDIE <;;333,” a follower commented.
While fans couldn’t agree on their favorite onscreen personality, many folks unanimously agreed that Jennifer was amazing for bringing them all to life. “Love you Maddie! Riley! Melinda ugh I love you Jennifer @jenniferlovehewitt ❤️❤️,” someone quipped. “We love them all but Jennifer Love [Hewitt] has to be the best ❤️,” another wrote.
Since 2018, Jennifer has played now-former emergency dispatcher Maddie on the Fox drama 9-1-1. After being away for much of season 5, Jennifer is ready to make her comeback as Maddie, who briefly left her new family in the midst of postpartum depression.
We can’t wait to see how Jennifer takes on this chapter of Maddie’s life and possibly reunites with her baby girl.
